Our day Started on vacation, in Midway, Utah. We woke up and immediately started packing for our trip home :(. After about 20 minutes in the van Allie Hallie, our 22 month old, threw up all over herself. We stopped the car to clean the mess as best as we could in the frigid cold wind. I hurried and changed her clothes and diaper and luckily had an extra coat for her. We switched her carseat and were on our way once more.
When we came out of the canyon and into Sugarhouse I had to drop Evan off at his work because he had some appointments scheduled that he would not move to another day which is THE reason we had to cut our vacation short.
Evan told me to take the 201 freeway to the 111 highway home. This was a new route for me,and I ran into problems when the whiteout hit. I missed my turn onto the 111 highway and I ended up in Tooelle instead of West Jordan. Not cool! The whiteout was so bad that they closed down the 201 and I was able to turn around and about 30 min later, after a treacherous drive in the snow I was home. I think the drive took at least an extra hour longer.
We opened the door to our house and immediately realized it was ice cold inside. The temp was only 55 degrees. So I turned on the gas fireplace and put all my kiddos in front of it to prevent them from turning into popsicles. I continued to unload the van and boom I slipped and fell face first down my driveway, which is at a 45 degree angle. Luckily I was not badly injured so I got back up, shoveled and salted the driveway around the van and then finished unloading it.
Needless to say that was NOT a good day!
